Congestive heart failure or heart failure occurs when the heart is unable to pump blood throughout the body efficiently. This is due to the weakness or stiffness of the heart. The term heart failure does not mean that your heart has stopped functioning. It just requires additional support to help work better. This is a long-term condition that tends to worsen over time. It cannot be cured, however, the symptoms can often be controlled for years.
Breathlessness after activity or even at rest.
Tiredness most of the time, and finding exercise exhausting.
Swollen legs and ankles.
Some also experience, persistent cough, fast heart rate, and dizziness.
At Springfield Medical Clinic our specialists can help you diagnose heart failure through blood tests, electrocardiogram (ECG), echocardiogram, breathing tests, or X-ray. Once diagnosed, you will be provided with suitable treatment options to avoid any future health risks.
